UH-OH! The new year has just begun and already most people are finding it hard to keep those resolutions! Those in the MKMMA know there’s a biological reason a lot of our habits are so hard to break. They get wired in to our brain. We all are hard-wired to give greater value to an immediate reward as opposed to something that is delayed. Just how that bit of happiness turns into habit involves a pleasure-sensing chemical released by the brain. It conditions the brain to want that reward again and again.
Well knowing and practicing the 7 laws of the mind will allow us to re-wire our brains for success.
One of the seven laws of the mind is the LAW OF GROWTH. What ever we think about grows. What we forget atrophies. Haanel teaches us that growth is attained through an exchange of the old for the new, of the good for the better. If we wish desirable conditions, we can afford to attain only desirable thoughts.
If we wish to express abundance in our lives we can afford to think abundance only.
If we want to overcome fear, lack, limitation and discord we need to recognize the principle that truth destroys error. If we let in light there can be no darkness. The same principle applies to every form of negative thought.
This leads in to one of the other laws of the mind. The LAW OF SUBSTITUTION. We cannot think about 2 things at the same time. If a negative thought enters your mind use a fond memory or other pleasant thought to replace it. This will enable you to destroy every manner of discord, lack and limitation.
This creative power places an invincible weapon in your hands and makes you a master of your destiny.
Our master key assignment this week is to rank 13 virtues in order of our greatest need for improvement. We are to focus on our first virtue for the entire week and keep tally on how many times we see this virtue in ourselves and in others.
This week my focus is on courage.
With the law of growth it will automatically multiply within me. As I become more aware of courage in others and in myself I will allow self-improvement in this area. We reap what we sow.
Today this first day of 2011 I will share with you a story from Earl Nightingale.
Suppose a farmer has some land and it is good fertile land. Now the land gives the farmer a choice. He may plant in that land whatever he choses. The land doesn’t care. It’s up to the farmer to make the DECISION. Now we are comparing the human mind with the land because the land like the mind doesn’t care what we plant in it. It will return what you plant but it doesn’t care what you plant. Now lets say the farmer has 2 seeds in his hand. One is a seed of corn and the other is night shade a deadly poison. He digs 2 little holes in the earth and he plants both seeds. One corn and one night shade. He covers the holes and waters and takes care of the land and what will happen? Invariably the land will return what is planted. So up come 2 plants 1 corn and 1 poison.
The human mind is far more fertile and far more mysterious than the land.
It works the same way. It doesn’t care what we plant, success or failure. A concrete worthwhile goal or confusion, misunderstanding, fear anxiety and so forth. But what we plant, it will return. You see the human mind is that last great unexplored continent on Earth. It contains riches upon our wildest dreams. It will return anything we plant.
Decide now what is it you want to plant in 2011. It’s the most important decision you will ever make in your entire life.
It’s the progressive realization of a worthy ideal. You become what you think about.
If you wish harmonious conditions in your life, you must develop a harmonious mental attitude.
Learn to keep the door shut, keep out of your mind and out of your world every element that seeks admittance with no definite helpful end in view.~George Mathew Adams
I wish you peace and harmony in 2011!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Increase in me that wisdom which discovers my truest interest, strengthen my resolution to perform that which wisdom dictates~Franklin.
If you look back at Week 5 you will see I had an inner struggle with my PPN’s(personal pivotal needs). When Davene told us to look to the sky and take a minute to choose our most important 2 PPN’s I picked Liberty and Legacy. I then had a personal tug of war with legacy and helping others. Several things over the past few weeks has made me realize that it was my old blue print that had won out. I didn’t have the self-confidence to believe that I could leave a legacy. At least in week 5. Wow, how far I have come. Well now that I know that I can be what I will to be, an inner shift has taken place. I will never be the same.
Although my current DMP(definite major purpose) are all things that are important to me I felt something was missing. Mark gave us a tip to help us feel what it is like to lose or give up on our DMP. He said next time you go to make your calls for the day throw your DMP card in the trash. Don’t take it out until you finish your calls. Feel the pain attached to loosing those dreams. Well I just didn’t seem to feel the emotional loss that I should. So I started really digging deep. Something was missing.
I added something to my dream board a few weeks ago. I’ve posted the new version on my blog. A picture of 3 smiling faces filled with joy as they hold their cups of Xango meal pack food. I also read Diane Norris’ press release and I just started to cry. Everything on my dreamboard is important to me but those faces smiling back at me and what it means to just have the basics in life. No child should be denied life-giving food on this Earth. If I can build a business through this philanthropic effort and help eradicate hunger this will be my thumbprint. This will be my LEGACY.
I have listened to Jim Rohn’s challenge to succeed CD’s over and over for the past year. This is the question to ask yourself. What is your philosophy on life. This mkmma course is allowing me to gain the self-confidence to become the person I was meant to be. To learn the skills I need to be successful so that I can empower others to believe in themselves and help them as well as myself achieve the lifestyle of our dreams.
This legacy will live on long after I am gone through my children, my grandchildren and all the people I will help along this journey.
So now I will make an addition to my press release and send Davene my updated DMP!
My heart soars to new heights. This is the best day of my life!
Mele KalikiMaka! Hau’oli makahiki hou!
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Wahoo!
I believe in myself and I believe in Mark and Davene Januszewski and I believe in all the members of the mkmma. You all infuse positive energy in to me. You inspire me and I am filled with gratitude to be a part of this amazing quest!
Success does not bring happiness but happiness brings success. It is belief in yourself and the associations you keep and a positive mental attitude that will lead to happiness.
From this weeks Master Key readings: Eternal vigilance is the price of success. There are 3 steps and each one is essential. You must first have the knowledge of your power; second, the courage to dare; and third the faith to do. Your ideal must be sharp, clear-cut and definite.
The law of attraction is the law of love. It is feeling that imparts vitality to thought. Feeling is desire and desire is love. Thought impregnated with love becomes invincible.
It is the combination of thought and love which forms the irresistible force called the law of attraction.
Select what you want, create your plan. Put the plan into action and follow through with persistence. What ever you vividly imagine , ardently desire, sincerely believe and enthusiastically act upon must inevitably come to pass~Paul J. Meyer
From this weeks Master Key readings; “Whatsoever things ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them and ye shall have them”~Mark11:24.
We must believe that our desire has already been fulfilled, its accomplishment will then follow.
Faith is the substance of things hoped for. The evidence of things unseen.
So long as there is breath in me that long will I persist. For now I know one of the greatest principles of success; If I persist long enough I will win.
Mark Januszewski reminds us this week that persistence is a by-product of 4 small habits. These 4 small habits are broken down in the book “Think and grow rich”. These are the habits that create persistence and success;
1.A definite purpose backed by a burning desire for its fulfillment. Check.
2. A definite plan, expressed in continuous action. OK contacting new prospects 6-8 hours was not accomplished this week. I will forget the happenings of the day that is gone. This is where I need to focus my actions this week. Stay in the circle. I have been everywhere but in the circle. No wonder my results are the same.
3. A mind closed tightly against all negative and discouraging influences. My mental diet is working. I am reciting in my mind “I can be what I will to be” or “I am whole, perfect, strong, powerful, loving harmonious and happy”. Check!
4. A friendly alliance with one or more persons who will encourage one to follow through with both plan and purpose. Check!
So this week I need to get back in the circle. Get back to contacting prospects. Share my opportunity.
So with these habits I plan to control my economic destiny and convert my dreams into physical reality.
Mark J’s Post today about synergy fits in so well with our master mind alliance. SYNERGY is defined as two or more agents working together to produce a result not obtainable by any of the agents independently.
I have formed a master mind alliance with my sponsor and fellow mkmma’er Barb Perrella. Each morning we call each other and say some positive affirmation we have learned in the mkmma or part of our DMP(definite major purpose) followed by our action plan for the day. We are also both rereading Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill along with our other Master Key reading assignments.
“I am the master of my fate. I am the captain of my soul.” “Whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve.”
This week especially I am feeling an inner calm or peace that I have not experienced before at this level. I think that it is from knowing without a doubt that I will achieve my DMP and that it is based on my PPN’s(personal pivotal needs).
“I greet the new sun with confidence that this will be the best day of my life!”
“Today will be better than yesterday, but not as good as tomorrow!”
This weeks mental exercise has been a challenge to say the least. Who is having trouble with this exercise? Our exercise was to visualize on a blank wall a 6″ square with a circle in it and a dot in the center that comes out of the wall 10″ to form a cone. To see it in black and then white and then red. All I know is I will keep trying.”I will persist until I succeed.
“When any object or purpose is clearly held in thought its perception in tangible and visible form is merely a question of time. The vision always precedes and itself determines the realization.~Lillian Whiting.
